Water quality is a priority area for the CamEO partnership, with partners hoping to achieve and then maintain the restoration of healthy-functioning, biodiverse and resilient ecosystems and increases the understanding of ‘natural capital’. The way in which CamEO seeks to improve the health of the river is by focusing on the point source pollution entering waterbodies.
Specific Objectives:
- Promote and encourage best practice techniques for river restoration and support the delivery of projects aimed at improving the habitat, morphology and connectivity of watercourses.
- Reduce negative impacts on water quality from rural and urban sources.
- Promote and encourage the implementation of best practice sustainable drainage schemes.
- Enhance the biodiversity of river ecosystems.
